What a week it's been! On Tuesday we had a spaghetti dinner at College Young Adults. Jaime & Sammie did an amazing job with the Spaghetti. I'm so grateful to everyone who helped prepare dinner and put in so much effort to make Tuesday a success. I was really excited to meet Seiffu and hear his story. As he was speaking, my heart was breaking. You hear about the poverty in Africa in commercials or the news but you don't really HEAR it until it comes from the mouth of someone standing in front of you telling you about his life. I'm so excited for this trip and what God has in store for me. My only fear is that I'll go there and never want to leave. I hope everyone that came to CYA on Tuesday night enjoyed themselves and I'm glad they got to be involved in this journey with us. The always wonderful Sarah Edmondson took pictures of the night. I cant wait to see them :) We'll post when we have them!
Today, my work finally gave me the official "OK" to go to Ethiopia. They have been so supportive of my trip. I feel so blessed to be working for such a great company. As if that wasn't good enough, my grandpa called to tell me that he was donating $500 towards my trip! He think's its a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and that I could contribute a lot of good to the people of Ethiopia. LOVE YOU POP! I've had lots of friends that have come to me and told me that they are donating to my trip and that they are so excited for me. Their support means everything to me and it's so nice to know that I have a wonderful support system of friends and family. I feel so blessed! I just can't stop smiling :) It's still a ways away but I can feel God preparing my heart for Ethiopia and the work he wants me to do. CANT WAIT!
